NPEA uses 3 Day Prayer Walks to ask God to show us geographically where NPEA should be planting churches and to give us insight into what a church plant project will cost not just in monetary ways.
In Luke 14:8 Jesus talks about counting the cost it will take if a person sets out to build a tower. The reason He says that we must count the cost is because we don't want to look foolish if we start a project and can't complete it.
We are listening to God's voice as we try and determine the answer to 10 specific questions. This is the basis for us asking God if we should plant a church in a specific geographic community and what that will entail.

NPEA uses 1 Day Prayer Walks to pray in a community where NPEA has committed to plant a new church in the future. We use short term mission teams to come once a month, starting one year before the new church is planted, to “work the soil” through prayer.
In the parable of the sower, Jesus teaches us about seeds being scattered on four types of soil. You will notice in Matthew 13:8 that it was the seeds which fell on fertile soil that produced a crop that was thirty, sixty, and even a hundred times as much as had been planted! This is the basis for us getting the soil ready in a location where NPEA will plant a new church in the near future.
During our time at a geographic location we use Prayer Walking to hear what God is communicating to us. Prayer Walking is simply praying in the very places where we expect God to answer our prayers. A major objective of Prayer Walking is praying on site with insight!
Prayer Walking focuses intercessory prayer on the community, homes, and people we encounter while walking. We walk to see. We see in order to pray more powerfully.
Prayer is the most powerful weapon God has given us to take back territory from the enemy. NPEA's Prayer Walks are challenging mission trips to say the least. We have had people comment that a Prayer Walk can take more energy than a week long mission trip because of the spiritual warfare going on.
So when you are done Prayer Walking with us we invite you to take a day or two to relax in the community. Feel free to take in the local sights, activities, shopping, dining, and culture. You'll deserve some R&R. Prayer Walking is a work out physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Take some time to recharge for life back home!
